Friends Never Forget
The 2014 Run For the Heroes 5k, is in its second year, and will bring together friends, families, local businesses and supporters as we work to raise money to support the youngest Survivors of military tragedy, the Children. There are a number of ways to get involved with the Run For the Heroes 5k, including forming a Company Team or participating as a Sponsor. (to sponsor this event email firstname.lastname@example.org)
The 5K will start adjacent to the soccer fields on Plantation Oaks Blvd. You will continue over Branan Field Rd to just past the entrance to Oakleaf High School where you will turn around. Once you have gotten over the Branan Field Rd bridge a second time (note this is a big hill for Florida) you will turn right on to Silver Bluff Blvd. you will reach a round about and merge slightly left onto Canopy Oaks Drive. As you reach the end of this road you will turn left on to Oakleaf Village Parkway and finish in the parking lot of Oakleaf Village Elementary School.
Kids/Fun Run Course

Other Race Day Activities
In addition to the Run for the Heroes and all the great activities listed above, Race Day has even more to offer. For our families there is the Family Fun Zone that includes face painting, sign making and other activities for kids. For our adult participants we have music, sponsors boths, food & beverages and a variety of vendor tables. Needless to say there will be something for everyone! The Friends Never Forget Run For the Heroes is a local event benefiting the Children of fallen military, the hope is that we can let these amazing kids who have suffered such a great loss in their lives be kids for a little while longer.
As one of the most moving parts of the program, the “Heroes Tribute” allows us to honor the strength, courage and patriotism of our amazing Heroes. You can find the tribute in the welcome and staging areas, there will be banner’s with the names of the fallen from 9/11 to present. The traditional helmet, rifle, boots and body armor statue will be present as well.
The Run for the Heroes Ceremony recognizes the achievements of our runners as well as our top fundraisers and sponsors. Running awards will be presented to the top male and female runners in various age brackets. In addition to runner’s awards, we will recognize the top corporate team, top Military team and top individual fundraisers.
TEAM FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY
get your friends together and register under a team, get people to sponsor you on the run, the team that raises the most money for the foundation will be recognized at the awards ceremony. it is another way to do even more to help the children of the fallen stay kids just a little bit longer
